Scott LaRiche is president of the Detroit Auto Dealers Association for 2013. LaRiche has served as a DADA board memeber for six years, beginning with his position as Dealer Line Group chairman for Chevrolet.  He served as DADA treasurer/secretary and vice president prior to his election as president in December 2012.

LaRiche is also executive managers/vice president of Lou LaRiche Chevrolet in Plymouth, Mich., which was established in 1970 by his father, Lou. A third-generation dealer, LaRiche has been part of the family business with his father and brothers, John and Robert, for more than 30 years (all of whom are active in day-to-day operations at various locations).

LaRiche is a member of the North American International Auto Show Executive Committee along with Chairman Jim Seavitt and Vice Chairman Bob Shuman. Together, the team is responsible for oversight of one of the world's most important auto shows.

LaRiche is active in the Plymouth-Canton and Northville communities, and is a member of the Plymouth Rotary Club. While with the Rotary, LaRiche and his father helped develop the Miracle League Baseball Diamond in Plymouth, a facility that provides children with physical and mental disabilities the opportunity to play baseball.

LaRiche attended Eastern Michigan University where he was part of the 1978 National Championship Forensics Team.  He and his wife Dawn have three adult children, and live in Northville, Mich.

Rod Alberts is executive director of the Detroit Auto Dealers Association (DADA), an organization that represents more than 221 domestic and import new car and truck dealers in Southeast Michigan.  Alberts is also executive director of the North American International Auto Show (NAIAS). 

Alberts’ duties as DADA executive director include representing dealers’ business interests at the state and federal levels, industry representation, communications, community relations, and educational and charitable endeavors such as Courageous Persuaders, a scholarship competition for high school students focusing on the dangers of underage drinking, and the DADA Charitable Foundation Fund, a fund of the Community Foundation for Southeast Michigan that provides support to nonprofit organizations that benefit the lives of children and youth in southeast Michigan. 

As the executive director of the NAIAS, Alberts manages all aspects of auto show operations.  Highlights of the 2010 NAIAS include:  146 exhibits;  37 worldwide and North American introductions of new vehicles; media attendance of 4,536 from 63 countries; and Charity Preview, the opening night ceremony, raised $2.1 million for 12 Detroit-area children’s charities, which includes the Detroit Auto Dealers Association Charitable Foundation Fund, a fund of the Community Foundation for Southeast Michigan.   In the last 10 years alone, these charitable programs have raised $56 million.

Alberts is currently a resident of Bloomfield Hills, Michigan.  He is a graduate of the University of Missouri. 

In addition to his duties at the DADA, Alberts is a member of the Executive Committee of the Metro Detroit Visitors and Convention Bureau; is a member of the Board of Directors of the Motor Cities Automobile National Heritage Area; serves on the Board of Directors for The Parade Company; serves on the Steering Committee of the Harold E. LeMay Museum; serves on the Detroit Regional Chamber’s Mackinac Policy Conference Committee; served as Chairman of the Board of Directors of the Automotive Hall of Fame in Dearborn, Michigan (2005-2006); and in 2002, served as President of the Automotive Trade Association Executives (ATAE), an affiliation of the National Automobile Dealers Association (NADA). 

Professional affiliations include the American Society of Association Executives, Automotive Press Association, Detroit Institute of Arts (DIA) Founder’s Society, Detroit Economic Club, Detroit Regional Chamber of Commerce, and Michigan Society of Association Executives. 

In 2008, Alberts was inducted into the Macomb County Hall of Fame by Michigan’s Macomb Foundation Board of Trustees, in recognition of “outstanding contributions to the lives of our citizens.” In 1995, Alberts was selected as one of Crain’s Detroit Business, “Metro Detroit’s Brightest and Best Under the Age of 40."
