The mission of the DADA Education Foundation is to promote excellence in education through quality programs and leadership. The following educational programs and scholarship awards are under the DADA Educational Foundation.
Courageous Persuaders harnesses the creativity of youth by inviting high school students to participate in an innovative and entertaining scholarship competition to make a 30-second TV commercial about the dangers of underage drinking. Objectives: • Raise awareness and change attitudes about the dangers of underage drinking among high school students. • To expose middle school students to positive role models − high school students taking a stand on this deadly issue. Questionnaires are administered to middle school students to gauge the effectiveness of the commercials produced by the high school students. Ratings on these questionnaires determine the winners. The 2010 contest drew 743 video entries, which included 1,196 students from 383 schools. Since 2000, entries have been submitted from every U.S. state, including the District of Columbia, Armed Forces Africa, American Samoa, Armed Forces Pacific, and the U.S. Air Force base in Japan, and have engaged well over 150,000 students in the creation and judging of these videos.
